The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master honours W.Bro. Frederick Schofield
on his 50th Anniversary in Mark Masonry.
 
On Monday February 10th Fred Schofield of Morecambe Mark Lodge had completed 50 years in Mark Masonry. The celebration was attended by the R.W. Provincial Grand Master, Bro. Peter Connolly and 27 of his Team members including 16 Grand Officers.
On accepting the Gavel of the Lodge R.W. Bro. Peter enlightened the Brethren with the accomplishments which W.Bro. Fred had achieved during his Masonic career.

The Secretary, W.Bro. Malcolm Cambidge read out the minutes of Fred’s initiation ceremony which occurred on February 10th 1964. W.Bro. Fred was Installed as W.Master in 1973 and was later promoted to the rank of PAGDC. He had also received the B.E.M. and had served as a J.P.

Greetings from the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons were given by the Provincial Grand Secretary, W.Bro. Geoffrey Lee, PGStwd who also presented W.Bro. Fred with a 50th Anniversary Certificate. The celebrations continued at the Festive Board when 80 Brethren dined. W.Bro David Tattersall, PPrGJD eloquently proposed the toast to W.Bro. Fred.

The W.Master of Garnett Mark Lodge No. 146, Bro. Jack Craig presented the Travelling Keystone to the W. Master of Morecambe Mark Lodge No 716. Bro. Peter Jackson. Jack had recently received the keystone from Scorton Mark Lodge with the proviso that it should be passed on in the company of a minimum of three Brethren of his own Lodge thus promoting visiting between Lodges.
